A Bluetooth tracker attaches to your keys, a bag, or a suitcase to find their location from your phone. On iPhone, it uses the Find My network (Find My app); on Android, Google’s Find Hub network. Here is how to choose.
How does a tracker work?
The tracker emits a Bluetooth signal. When a compatible device on the network passes nearby, it detects this signal and transmits the location anonymously; it then appears in your phone’s app. Therefore, it is not a real-time GPS: the location updates when compatible devices pass near the tracker. In an isolated area, only the last known location may remain displayed.
Find My (iPhone) or Find Hub (Android)?
| Find My | Find Hub | |
|---|---|---|
| Phone | iPhone | Compatible Android |
| Network | Apple devices nearby | Android devices nearby |
| App | Find My | Find Hub (formerly “Find My Device”) |
Choose a tracker compatible with your phone’s system. The frequency of updates depends on the number of compatible devices around the item.
Our trackers
- Wireless Tag Dual: compatible with Find My on iPhone and with Find Hub on compatible Android phones. Available in packs of 1 to 4 tags, practical for equipping keys, bags, and luggage.
- Dechie Diu Diu Finder: compact tracker designed for the Apple Find My network.
Pairing is done from your phone’s app (Find My on iPhone, Find Hub on Android) by following the product manual.
Limitations to know
- The location is not updated continuously: it depends on compatible devices passing near the tracker.
- Operation depends on your phone’s settings (Bluetooth, location, connected account) and its system version.
- These trackers are used to find items, not to track a person. Moreover, iPhone and Android can alert their user if an unknown tracker appears to be moving with them.
