Electric scooter: power, range and use

An electric scooter technical sheet lines up figures in watts, volts, amp-hours and kilometers. Here is how to read them to choose a model suited to your commutes, with the NANROBOT scooters available at Quixus.

Power: nominal and maximum

Nominal power corresponds to continuous operation; maximum power is a peak reached during acceleration or when climbing. High power helps mostly on hills and with a heavy load.

The battery: voltage × capacity = energy

By multiplying the voltage (V) by the capacity (Ah), you get the energy stored in watt-hours (Wh), the best indicator to compare possible range:

Model Battery Energy Advertised range
NANROBOT D4+ Space Light 48 V – 18 Ah 864 Wh up to 60 km
NANROBOT LS7 Space 60 V – 20 Ah 1 200 Wh see product page
NANROBOT A14 60 V – 36 Ah 2 160 Wh up to 80 km

Ranges are advertised values: they vary depending on the rider’s weight, terrain, temperature, tire pressure, battery level and riding style.

Weight, equipment and charging

  • Weight: 35 kg for the D4+, 45 kg for the LS7. These are heavy scooters: plan for an easily accessible storage location.
  • Comfort and terrain: hydraulic suspension on the LS7, 11-inch off-road tires on the D4+, all-terrain style tires on the A14.
  • Braking and visibility: disc brakes on the D4+; RGB Space Light lighting on the LS7 and the D4+; dual front lighting on the A14.
  • Charging: 3 A charger on the LS7 and the D4+, with an advertised charging time of about 4 to 6 hours for the D4+.

Which model for which use?

  • Urban commutes and leisure, on various surfaces: the D4+, the lightest of the three (35 kg).
  • Suspension comfort: the LS7 and its hydraulic suspension.
  • Long distances and high power: the A14, with the largest battery (2 160 Wh) and up to 80 km advertised.

Safety

These models are powerful: the D4+ advertises a speed of up to 70 km/h. Wear a helmet and protective gear, adapt your speed and respect the highway code.

Frequently asked questions

Is the advertised range realistic?

This is a value measured under favorable conditions. Weight, hills, speed and temperature reduce it.

How to compare two batteries?

Multiply the voltage by the capacity: 60 V × 36 Ah = 2 160 Wh for the A14, compared to 864 Wh for the D4+ (48 V × 18 Ah).

How long does it take to charge?

For the D4+, the advertised charging time is about 4 to 6 hours with its 3 A charger.
